DAG proposes a profound democratization of the RUG, where the board of directors has to answer to the academic community at all times.

The financing of the university has to be thoroughly revised: money flows are largely controlled by third parties who have no regard for the university’s identity and tasks.

Corporate policy and management are irreconcilable with the responsibilities that the RUG has to public society. A university ought to be a public knowledge project benefitting all. 

DAG wants to introduce qualitative values focused on content as a basis for assessment. We need to move away from the meaningless and quantitative ratings and assessments, which are currently harmful to researchers’ health and performance, limit students’ their creative freedom, and which slowly wear our educational system down.
